Guidelines to Authors on Submission of Extended Abstracts

  1. Introduction
    These guidelines are provided in order to facilitate the submission of high quality extended research abstracts in a professional and impressive manner. All extended abstracts should be based on original work and plagiarism constitutes grounds for disqualification. Accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings provided at least to one of the authors who register and present the paper.
  1. General Guidelines
  • The extended abstract should be self-contained original document that describes your research.
  • The authors should adhere to the guidelines when preparing the extended abstract to be submitted to the TechInn 2022.
  • The deadline for the submission is available in the conference website of the Faculty of Technology.
  • Early submission is encouraged as it helps editorial board to manage the review process in a timely manner.
  • Submission guidelines should strictly be followed by the authors.
  • Author(s) should make sure that the extended abstracts submitted to the TechInn 2022 have not been published previously or not under consideration for publication in any journals or conferences.
  1. Formatting
  • Length: The extended abstract should be limited to 1000-1200 words excluding the list of reference.
  • Line Spacing: The paper must be single spaced.
  • The paper should be prepared in two columns (column width = 8.32 cm column spacing = spacing 0.75 cm).
  • Margins: 2.5 cm margins with justified text in top, right and bottom and 3 cm in left margin
  • Font: 12-point, Times New Roman
  • Page size: A4.
  • Figures and Tables: All figures and tables should be integrated in the text. The caption style should be in the same format as of the main text.
  • Language: The papers should be fully in English (British English is preferred) and written in a way free from grammatical and spelling inaccuracies. You are encouraged to proof read carefully prior to the submission.
  1. Authorship:
    All the authors should be listed on the first page after the title. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all authors have seen, approved and are fully conversant with the contents of the paper. All authors are responsible for the accuracy of the manuscript.
  1. Funding Acknowledgement:
    Author/s must declare all sources of research funding in the extended abstract (where relevant).
  1. References:
    Include references in alphabetical order using Harvard referencing style (Times New Roman, 12pt, left aligned). Ensure that the references are accurate as per the guidelines given below.
  • For books: Surname, Initials (Year of Publication), Title, Publisher, Place of Publication.
  • For chapters in edited books: Surname, Initials (Year), “Title”, in Editor’s Name, Initials (Ed.), Title, Publisher, Place, Pages.
  • For journal articles: Surname, Initials (Year), “Title”, Journal Name, Volume, Number, Pages.
  • For electronic sources: The URL of the web site at which they may be found along with the date of latest access.
