The inauguration ceremony of the Faculty of Technology, University of Jaffna 2021 was held on 6th of July at the Board room of Jaffna University main premises.
Prof. S. Srisatkunarajah (the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jaffna), Dr. S. Sivachandiran (Dean, Faculty of Technology), Dr. T. A. Piyasiri (National coordinator of the Technology Education), Heads of the Department, Registrar, Bursar and staff were present physically and graced the event, while all the students and parents attended virtually through Zoom. The auspicious ceremony was started with the lighting of a traditional lamp. The Dean of the Faculty of Technology presented the welcome address, followed by the address by the Vice-Chancellor. Dr. Piyasiri delivered a special address on “Scope of Technocrats”. The “road map” video was presented to students for taking them a virtual tour to the faculty on this most awaited day. Heads of the Department, Registrar and Director of students’ welfare also gave speech for the future technocrats.
