Minister of Education Prof. G.L. Peries, Chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) Prof. Sampath Amarathunge visited the Faculty of Technology, University of Jaffna and perceived the prototype FormulaSAE race car developed by automobile technology students for their final year project. FormulaSAE is a dedicated student racing event held by the Society of Automotive Engineers every year. The Car has been built, in compliance with the FormulaSAE competition regulations, by a group of fourteen number of final year students at the faculty workshop. Prior to the fabrication, the painstaking design and simulation processes were undertaken using solid edge package and via virtual platform during the three-months lockdown.
